This master grade Tieguanyin oolong tea hails from the famed tea growing Nanhu Mountain range of China and has been offered as an Imperial tribute since the early days of the Qing Dynasty.

This premium Iron Bodhisattva has a deep yellow color, notes of rice with a distinct fragrance of orchids, and a refreshing kick you might otherwise only get from a bubbling brook in the Himalayas; it evokes a cool-mountain-air feeling reminiscent of spring, no matter what time of year it is.

Our story about Tie Guan Yin Master Grade Oolong Tea

A farmer in the Qing Dynasty regularly prayed to the Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara. One day, as he was chopping wood in the forest, the good man came across a new variety of tea tree. He was surprised to see its unusually large flowers and thick leaves.

“This tree,” he thought aloud, “is as heavy as iron.”

The farmer considered its marvelous tea a gift offered to him for his devotion. And, as any generous Buddhist would, he shared this gift of The Iron Bodhisattva for the world to enjoy. As soon as you see the first tea leaf curl up with the warm touch of water, you, too, will be gently carried away by its fragrances and flavors into a calming Buddhist experience.

Fall is my favorite time of year. I enjoy watching leaves change color to orange, red, yellow. Perfect time to try Master TGY I bought 2 weeks ago. This time I decided to brew it with my new gaiwan, gongfu style. I enjoyed every sip of it. A bit pricey tea, but luckily I had my special Yezi Tea coupon :). Highly recommended tea, if you are into oolongs.

After a long morning of tourism in Portland, Oregon I was finally able to try out my sample Tie Guan Yin Master Grade Oolong. Definitely is now one my top list of favorite oolong teas. The aroma is divine and flavor is definitely "reminiscent of spring" but what appealed to me most was the very vibrant color. A must try oolong! Also, the samples are amazing for travel!!
